Wheels with Heart Program

Why Wheels with Heart?
We proudly offer our services to those in need of a hand. This is our way of giving back to a wonderful community that has supported us for so many years.
Our Wheels with Heart program is specifically intended to be a resource to help our existing clients who have close friends or family that, through no fault of their own, have fallen on hard times. A good example of this would be someone who has suffered a temporary job loss or medical condition that has made it financially difficult to deal with unexpected car repairs. Owning a vehicle is expensive, providing repair services to an individual that will not be able to take care of the future needs of their vehicle will not be considered. It is not our intention for this program to be a handout, but rather a hand up.
Our Wheels with Heart program is not a nonprofit organization. We do receive contributions from time to time, but for the most part is self-funded through Dickerson Automotive. This program is budgeted annually based on prior years sales, and is our way of giving back to our community. As much as we would love to help everyone, we simply do not have the financial resources to do so. Keep in mind that any help from the person submitting the application to pay for the necessary parts to complete the repairs is encouraged but not required. However, this does limit the amount of money that can be expended for parts and technician wages to $800.00.
Although we do manage to provide vehicles for people in need from time to time, we are totally reliant on our existing customers to provide a viable vehicle to refurbish for this purpose. Providing needed repairs or service for someone with an existing vehicle is much easier for us to facilitate.
Due to financial limitations the following criteria must be met for recipient to be considered.
- Submission must be provided by an existing client that has transacted with Dickerson Automotive in the previous twelve months.
- The retail price of the repairs needed to bring the recipients vehicle to a safe and reliable condition must not exceed 70% of the current NADA value of the vehicle.
- Recipient must have an established residence in South Utah County. (Springville to Santaquin)
- Proof of current state minimum insurance requirements.
- Recipient must be able to be without their vehicle for a period of two to eight weeks, as we have to do this type of work when we have down time to work it in.
