WE have the tools training and experience to take care of your Heating and Air Conditioning needs
Today’s cars and trucks have heating and air conditioning systems that are integrated together.
A heater core is a radiator-like device used in heating the cabin of a vehicle. Hot coolant from the vehicle's engine is passed through a winding tube of the core, a heat exchanger between coolant and cabin air. Fins attached to the core tubes serve to increase surface for heat transfer to air that is forced past them, by a fan, thereby heating the passenger compartment. See picture below:
Since the Introduction of the air conditioning systems into vehicles in, many things have changed dramatically. Such as automatic temperature control that allows you to select the desired temperature, the control system will continuously keep the vehicle at the desired setting. The controls take into account many variables such as outside temperature, cabin tempature and sun load to name a few.
There have also been many improvements to overall quality of today’s Air conditioning systems.
Although the basic fundamentals of the air conditioning system are the same. They are comprised of a COMPRESSOR, CONDENSER, EVAPORATOR, ORIFICE TUBE, THERMAL EXPANSION VALVE , RECEIVER-DRIER, ACCUMULATOR. See illustration below:
The days of charging up the A/C yourself are pretty much over. To comply with environmental regulations, which requires the use of equipment that has the ability to capture clean and weigh the currently used refrigerants. It also has to be able to identify contaminated refrigerant so that it does not unknowingly end up in your car.
The way that the heating and air condition system is monitored and controlled is state of the art in today’s cars and trucks.
It takes Modern day diagnostic equipment along with a highly trained technician that has a very clear understanding of both A/C and D/C electricity; the technician also has to be very familiar with the theory of operation for the specific vehicle that is having a problem. You can’t fix it if you don’t understand how the system is designed to function in the first place.
